Born in 2009, Featherhead is the lovechild of handsome providence and founder, Philomena Kwok’s, undeniable weakness for irreverent fashion. After being GFC’d at the height of the crisis and spending a good few months kicking dust and travelling on a shoestring, Philomena decided to expand a lifelong love of desig n and launched Featherhead. Starting with a simple range of feather headbands, fascinators and earrings, Featherhead began picking up flagship retailers and boutiques such as Seduce and The Family Jewels in Sydney. With the online boutique, Featherhead is able to create limited edition pieces available only here and now. A mishmash of street wear influences, romanticism, exotic flair and oodles of tongue-in-cheekiness, Featherhead is known for its passionately impractical styling and locally designed pieces. The Featherhead workshop and head office is based in Crows Nest, Sydney and is a veritable grotto of ceiling-to-floor feathers, silks, dyes, beads, buttons and leathers. The space is shared with Philomena’s couture millinery label Philomena Kwok Millinery. Currently offering Women’s accessories with a tilt to headwear, Featherhead also has plans for a children’s accessories line. |
